2025 Libertads

Just received an email from a reliable source regarding 2025 Libertads.
Yearly Libertad production is always an adventure for those who follow them. The source said the Bank of Mexico will produce NO gold Libertads for 2025. Also, there will be NO 7 coin proof silver sets produced as well. The only Libertads mentioned that will be produced are 1 oz BU silver and that will be limited to 300 total (prior years have seen production rates averaging around 300k-400k for the 1oz BU). There was no mention of all other sizes and versions regarding production.
And Mexico is the world's largest silver producer by a wide margin.
Hmm.

300 total silver libertads or 300k?
Well, it looked like they were getting only 300 total 1 oz BU coins to distribute. Normally they have a lot more. As is normal with Libertads it's a bit confusing.
I'd read on another source that this year's production was going to be "not normal".
Guess we'll see.
Hmmm, I have followed this series and they have done some somewhat strange things but I would take that 300 figure with a grain of salt.
Well, just Love coins, period.
Came across this article by Louis Golino dated 2 June 2025.

Pretty much lays out the entire situation.
I saw no 2025 (nor 2024) Libertads at the recent Monterrey show.
And, with all due respect, to set the record straight, Lois Bailey is not one of the “most respected experts” on Mexican coins. Far from it.
Don Bailey was indeed knowledgeable in modern Mexican material. Possibly even an expert.
Edited to add: Golino has spread misinformation before. I generally take his writing with a grain of salt.
Completely an “ouch”!
I recall their numbers or forecasts to be fairly accurate in the past, hope these are not real numbers this go-round. I agree that I may just let go of the Libertad series if this occurs.
