15 consecutive, MS70(?), 1957B Silver Certificates PICS ADDED

If I'm in the wrong place, please advise. Total noob here.

While going through my dad's estate, I found a check cover containing 15 consecutively numbered 1957B Silver Certificates in what I can only call "factory new" condition. I know very little about currency short of what I've gleaned here and there, and individual certs don't seem to have much value from what I've found.

My question is, would 15 consecutive mint state silver certs be worth any more than their individual value? Does anyone collect consecutively numbered bills?

Appreciate any insight or additional information.

Thank you!

I doubt they would grade PMG-70.....maybe high 60's....I'm not sure, but 1957 is fairly recent, 1930's bills would be worth more.

If they score high enough, maybe $100-$200 ? Without grading, $50 ?

"Consecutive serial numbers" means nothing to me: that's just the way they're issued. I have no idea why (or where) the "Consecutive SN" thing came from (b/c there's just so many variables one can collect). I suppose there's some cool serial numbers like XXX99999 which roll over to another cool # XX000000 but that's not how I "roll" (or collect).

In fact, I expect a discount when I buy a "lot" of notes & couldn't care about the serials (unless they're special low #, radars, etc). I have bought some consecutive radars (1000 # apart in Canada). Even on older series, where some seek consecutive serial #s, I don't.

I have seen some consecutive pairs sold & pumped up by auction houses though (so I do know its a thing).

would 15 consecutive mint state silver certs be worth any more than their individual value?

Good question but you have to consider the costs & unless you're getting several graded at 67 (or higher) it might not be worth it. You also have to factor in how much it will cost to sell (seller's/platform fees & generally each note will sell more than all of them together).

Good input. Many thanks. Looks like they'll become fodder for the change machine at the carwash.

You don't have to just "use them"...post on Ebay..many will buy them if you keep the price reasonable. $5-$7 each...don't mention that they look "70"...most will not want to grade them.

-I agree with tomX4. You could also try selling them on this or other forums' Trading Posts (avoiding fees). If you wish to do it quickly, offer them in 5 lots of 3. Just b/c I don't collect this way doesn't mean there's others who don't like consecutive #s.
