1970 S mint mark Lincoln Penny

I have had this penny for awhile and heard a lot about it. But up til now I've batted not a thousand. I'm just wondering what to make of it. I see things about it. But not really sure. Could someone tell me what they think? All help is appreciated

Not sure exactly what you are seeing but it is a regular 1970S low date
that in that condition is worth 1 cent.
Please tell us what you “heard a lot about it”.

  • I just meant...I have been trying to learn about what is a key date and what isnt. As I started I'm new but wanting to learn about coins and the history behind them.

Pick up a copy of the Whitman redbook of US coins, it will have all the history, mintage figures and most everything else you will need. It's a must for beginning US coin collectors.

It's a shame the reverse looks like it does.
    Forgetaboutit !
    Step two :
Save it and replace it, when the coin gods feel your ready for another find.
And if that one's not up to par, repeat step two.
    Carry on !

  • Thank you so much. That helps. I am just really wanting to learn this. Have a wonderful day
