It is real gold. Your insinuation is absolutely false.
In fact, I can attest to the content since I made it. And, on top of that, they tend to be a little over-weight.
With only 6 minted, you have no clue what sort of premium it would attain at auction.
As far as I know, not a single one of my 2.5-oz gold octagons has ever been in a public auction.
Do you know who personally fabricated your gold ? How much of your gold is fake and/or hollowed out and filled with tungsten ?
In the case of this item, I melted the gold, rolled it out, and struck the piece myself. So I know it is good gold.

By real deal you mean a 1915-S $50 Pan Pac Octagon(?) In MS66 (highest graded), it would set me back $275,000 if bought in 2015. Today that same coin and grade is valued at $275,000. Ten years, no gain. I'll stick with DC's 'slug'.

I meant like 2.5ozt of real gold coins..... common double eagles, AGEs, Krugs, Maples etc. I'm not knocking you at all, while fantasy tokens are not my cup of tea all that matters is that you like it. If it were mine it would have been on the way to the smelter by now.
10 years ago we were buying gold eagles from APMEX on ebay at right over $1200 (with bonus ebay bucks). Anyone remember those? Well more than a double, that's all I was saying. RGDS!
The whole worlds off its rocker, buy Gold™.

I remember the 'bucks, they were a great incentive.
DC's fantasies aren't my only rodeo, I bought an array of U.S. gold 10 years ago too. All my common dates have doubled as well and then some, however, my MCMVII HR I bought in 2015 has only inched up a few thousand bucks, then again, it's one of the most expensive 'common' gold coins out there.
Btw, my av is a pairing of my HR and DC's '1906' double eagle concept from ASG's renderings.

That’s a beauty. I’ve never seen that one before.
Good time to own some gold for sure.

10 years ago GLD was 115. Today is 315 but one would have had to endure a 0.40% annual fee. Lol.

I'm surprised the premium has been maintained.

How much money have you thrown away over the years by sending rare gold coins/tokens/medals to the smelter ?
