WTB/Searching for my grandfathers 1841 N-3 Large Cent

Hello Everyone,
My name is Matt and I am EAC Member #7102. I'm searching for this exact coin which sold at DLRC back in February (I missed it unfortunately). It is an 1841 Newcomb 3 Large Cent that used to belong to my grandfather that sold on heritage 3 years after I was born in 2003. Attached are the photos of the coin as they have progressed through the years... and in many different holders. If anyone can help me find this coin, I would really really appreciate it. It is currently in a users private set on PCGS (Cert# 50919328). I'm willing to pay quite a bit over what it recently sold for, solely due to sentimental value. I am collecting Braided Hairs from 1839-1857 and have held out on many 1841s for this coin specifically.
Thanks in advance!

it would be cool if this works out
Man, I hope you find it. Why not contact DLRC and ask if they'll send the last buyer a message for you with your story? It can't hurt to try.

I have been in contact with them, but it's been indirect and I would rather try and find the owner on my own, I think, just for that personal story. I had sent a couple offers through someone at DLRC and my guess is that they want to buy it back from him and sell it to me, which I get completely, but its probably less enticing for the opposite end.
I just wanted to thank everyone who has checked out this post and offered some great insight. I was able to acquire the coin through DLRC after many attempts at contacting the original owner. I'm extremely excited to have this coin back and for it to stay in the collection for generations to come.
Thanks for posting the positive result. Just made my weekend!

Yay! Thats great!
Just super!
Great for you! The sentimental value is always far in excess of the monetary. Glad you can hold on to the coin that your grandfather did and I hope it brings you that much closer.
