1955 IBE? wheat penny

form what little i know is that the BIEs were on the 1954's. i was wondering what this one would be worth since the IBE is probably the best one I've seen , and its a date that's
not common

    I think you meant BIE? I any case, it's a die chip that I'm sure happened on lots of coins in that era. And that gouge would impact any value it might have.

    We'll see what others say in regard to the specific date being of any significance.

    The BIE can occur on any year Lincoln cent. It is a weak spot of the die so it doesn’t matter the year.
    They are fairly common so there isn’t too much of a premium for them.

    This happened pretty much every year in the '50s.
