Can anyone know if this 1915 2 1/2 gold indian is real ? Being offered to me for $375 and not 100% sure about its authenticity

    Looks like an authentic circulated Indian quarter eagle but it looks like it has been cleaned.

    Can you get a weight to 0.01 grams?

    If you have a scale, Numista says it should weigh 4.18 grams. And with a caliper, a diameter of 18mm. Not foolproof, but it helps.

    Are you near a local coin shop that has a Sigma device?

    Considering it’s raw - You don’t. Are u risk averse?

    Suggest you pass - get a graded piece. Many been ripped on raw gold.
