Definitely damage, looks like it might have been soldered to something.

There is no way that could happen during the striking of the coin so it is damage.

I figured it was. But if it was soldered or something on it wouldn't it weigh more than 5.03 grams.just curious.

5.03 is a little heavy, and if it is lead free solder it wouldn't add much weight. Regardless if it's solder or not, it's still damage of some kind.
