    Not sure how he got in the HOF, but I think Floyd Little qualifies.

    Butkus was one of the stars of the 1964 Rose Bowl game while at Illinois. Not professional… but still worthy of mentioning

    His teammates were mentioned, but not Ron Santo.

    There were 8 "World Series" during Cap's career. 1884-90, there was an AA vs NL series. In 1892, they did NL vs NL with the first half champion playing the second half champion. Cap's teams didn't make any of the Series, however.

    I forgot about the AA series, but I'd never heard of the 1892 series. Looked it up; unreal pitching by Nichols and Stivetts.

    The 1892 was news to me as well. If I knew about it, it was forgotten long ago. Found it while double checking the years for the AA series.
