This is an exceptional, well-traveled example in an old green holder with rich orange toning. Very cool to imagine how this coin was used in commerce during the gold rush. These don’t trade often with CAC approval and prices have gone up significantly in recent years as Territorial gold issues have exploded in popularity. The closest comp out there is a VG8 CAC from the Fairmont collection, which sold in April 2022 for $7,800. My VG10 has significantly better eye appeal than the Fairmont coin IMO. SOLD. I’m happy to provide additional images and video on request and have plenty of references.
