Nic-a-date for silver coins?

Is there such a chemical that can be used for revealing dates on silver coins? I have a SLQ that I'd love to ID.

    I'm pretty sure Nic-A-Date is about as good as it gets for silver. Sometimes it works and sometimes not.

    I may have something, let me test it and see. From what I have heard, it led a long time for nick a date to work on SLQs because they are only 10% copper, not 75% like nickels. The active ingredient in nick a date is ferric chloride or FeCl3 if you want to be specific, and it eats copper, so the more copper the better. I have a pure bottle of this stuff, and ten or eleven dateless SLQs. I may try it on one for fun.
