Medieval on values

A friend asked me to help him value an ancient coins he has. 1 is a Denarius silver coin from Marcus Aurelius 139-180 AD.
Where is a good reference for this type of material. I looked on E-bay but found prices all over the place.
Thanks
Bob

  • Marcus Aurelius coins were struck from 161-180 AD, those were the years Aurelius was Emperor and then died(121-180AD).

I can't help you out much with value, but I can tell you that I purchased a random Silver Denarii from ebay for $30 and got a Marcus Aurelius coin. It is small and black about the size of a dime.

Llamas and alpacas are camels. They aren't like camels, or related. They are camels. When was anyone going to tell me this?! How long had Bill Nye been holding out on us?

It's Roman, not medieval. You need to identify it fully https://numismatics.org/ocre/identify and then grade it.

Most presentable coins of Marcus Aurelius are worth $30-100. Maybe $200 full retail. A very few are worth a few hundred. Sellers on eBay will try their luck. Some even slab them in the hope that a Morgan Dollar collector will vastly overpay.

Can't help you on value without at an image but
If you'd care to attribute the piece you can start here....
