What would you pay for an auction like this? Big $$$ lot...

I have been looking to buy a big lot of cards for a good deal, and this one looks better than the one I saw yesterday but there isn't a listing for the cards available. Sure, there's pictures but they don't tell all. For instance, he's creatively (I'm assuming) covered the bottom of the Michael Jordan Fleer card so that some may be faked out into thinking it's an actual rookie when I'm going to assume it's a reprint. I've seen the reprint where it says it is in gold foil at the bottom...The $12,000 may be right, but look at all of the cards in the second picture. With that amount, it definitely decreases the average value. Just gimme some info if you're familiar with some of the cards shown. I have ideas on BV's, but not specific.

Bradley - Jordan card is just a bit high of center of picture. Red and blue border....

BBXXX - In agreement in that sense, but wasn't sure about the BV's of many of the ones that can be seen. I know the rest can be crap and I wouldn't bid 20% of his estimated value $12,000. If they were all great, he'd be smart to list them but many must suck because he only listed one...lol. Just wanted a bit of input.

It say's in the description that the Favre Auto $300 is the highest book card.

I don't mean to trash the auction, because there are obviously some nice cards in there. 2 questions come to mind right away....

1. Why no detailed list of cards? Am I alone in thinking that an auction with a list would probably bring a lot more than a blind one?

2. This guy is an ebay seller... check his feedback. He sells singles... if it was such a great lot of cards, why wouldn't he break up the lot, sell individually, and make a lot more?

I'd check through his past auctions (link), and maybe email the high bidder from one of the sellers past 'huge lot' auctions.

Actually, I just emailed him a bit ago and asked if he could at least list me the top 20 cards he has in this auction... Just got a reply from him...

This is my 6th lot sold on ebay, Never had a problem, got plus feedback on all of my lots.over $12000 in cards, The top 20 are auto's jersey rookies,
Favre Auto, Marino jersey psa 10 auto. rookies,
Anyhow to many to even try to list the top 20.
As for the Jordan YES, for sure it's a reprint, Or I would of said thier was one in the lot. lol ha ha ha

Sounds like a cop out to me. Too many to list the top 20? He has to have an idea I would think. He says he knows the value, but doesn't have an idea of the top 20? Oh, and yes that Jordan card was a mistake

Over 900 unique positives with only 3 negatives, with the most recent one left by a questionable buyer, leads me to believe this auction might be ok to bid on... maybe ask for the right to return if dissatisfied with the lot (hmmm still a fair amount of money at risk with the shipping

)
