    1972 D type B like type H reverse quarter matching the proof reverse of that year. I believe only one die was involved.

    1876 Shield Nickel DDO/RPD "Extra Shield"

    Only example known. I have a couple other shield nickels that are also "only example known" but this is the most dramatic (and therefore if there were more of them, they probably would have shown up).

    VAM 14.18 - pop.1, none finer, and none even remotely close in lower grades. Unless of course Jeff Oxman or the late Lloyd Gabbert or Mike Fey have an example hidden away. image

    This is my rarest variety, an 1827/7 JR-1 dime. It's currently in a PCGS MS63 OGH and unattributed. The highest JR-1 attributed is an MS66, followed by an MS62. I bought the coin as an ordinary 1827 at the 2006 Denver ANA. The PQ sticker was added by the seller.
