Question about silver bars

I'm slowly building up a collection of 10 ounce silver bars. I'm staying with the lowest priced bars commonly seen. But some of these old, famous bars are really pricey. What could one expect to get if they sold one of the pricier bars to a dealer? Does a dealer pay a premium for these type bars or just the goin rate for silver?

    Some dealers and coin shops don't know the market for these very well. So they will offer "spot" or less and then resell at spot+ . Those are the places where I like to look for scarcer bars.

    But most dealers and shops know the value of vintage silver ingots. I think many in this category would still offer "spot" and hope to buy at or near spot, and then turn around and sell at a large markup.

    If I had a table at a coin show and someone offered me some vintage bars I would offer appropriate prices (much more than spot for better bars).

    When selling, I would not take vintage bars to a coin shop. I would take them to a coin show and shop around for the best price, or sell them on the internet at one of the various venues where these things are traded.

    Similarly, better exonumia items (tokens, medals, etc) are also best sold at a coin show or on-line auctions.

    You will realize more money from an end user or collector.
    Depending on the bar.

    There's a couple of FB groups where you can sell your vintage poured bars if your not a member already. Just an FYI. Dealers will not pay you premium for those type of bars.
