    In that condition, it would be hard to get much of a premium for any of them.
    Unless they are rare, collectors like the more common bills in mint condition.

    Youtube & Reddit are the "wild, wild west" where they'll sing anyone who listens a song of riches from broken ladders & things no serious collector would even dream of. It's all done for "likes" & subscribers.

    In that condition, it would be hard to get much of a premium for any of them.

    Unless they are rare, collectors like the more common bills in mint condition.

    (Banknotes are printed not minted- but the idea is correct: the better the condition- the more collectible)
    10 years from now: there will be even more common circulated notes found from attics, Safety Deposit Boxes, etc (& circulated common notes will be even less collectible) b/c there will be too many found.

    If you like banknotes (or are interested in) the hobby, you'd be better off to buy 1 older note (you like) in better condition.

    Error coins, is there anything similar to paper currency that could separate these from the rest and increase the rare factor.

    I have collected only a few types of US currency but mainly focus on World notes. I enjoy following what others acquire so I drop by this Collector's Universe forum from time to time. My suggestion to you is to check out what other US collectors collect. Sometimes, a collector will share what they have been assembling over the past year or so.

    For example, here is a thread by a US coin collector who has discussed his journey with several affordable pick-ups. He doesn't go for any special serial numbers, nor errors, but has a pretty interesting Type Set of US small (& some Large sized) currency. He doesn't break the bank & often drops into his LCS to discuss what he's after or haggle for a particular note he's had his eye on. Hope this helps!

    Check out this link for a summary of different types of currency errors for modern notes. I am not big into errors so I'm not sure if it's complete or not.
