I have concluded that there are some really tough star and superstar cards that have centering and print defects..I know a lot of this has been discussed but maybe i have stumbled across some that a few of you didn't know about. Centered copies of these at just about any grade by especially 8 and up can bring significantly more than regular 8's.
1 - 1979 topps and opc ozzie. the opc (about 5-10% print of topps) is just terrible. Hard to find 7.5's and up of opc and centered copies of 8's topps are tough.
2 - 1977 Topps and OPC Tom seaver, top to bottom centering way off
3- 1977 topps and opc Jim Palmer - same as above
4 - 1975 Mike schmidt topps and opc (lots of PD and centering issues)
5 - 1973 Topps and OPC Nolan ryan - if you peruse through the listings on ebay ( about 150 or more at any given time) they are all missing half of the left border.
6- 1975 topps and opc nolan ryan - Topps has a few more PD's than OPC, but centering is woeful.
7 - 1982 topps and opc, seaver, schmidt, reggie -- opc ryan -- woeful centering.
8 - 1975 topps and opc Tanana - centering and pD on the topps issue, opc - mainly horrific centering
9 - 1976 topps and opc george brett - centering is terrible. Topps has significant PD.
10 - 1978 Topps Nolan ryan - centering issues and lots of PD, hard to find a centered 8 and up.
11- 1977 topps and opc George brett and Robin yount - really poor centering
Of course opc is worse in just about every comparison because of the poor centering and low volume. But i included the topps issues as the main culprits here.
I will update some of these as I go and remember. Post some of the ones you have ran into.

Tons of 77 OPC are off t/b.
I've ripped 4-5 boxes over the years. Beautiful cards but.....
A nicely centered 79 Ozzie is as tough to find as anything. I love the card, but that's almost impossible.
I think the 76 may be the worst set of the decade to find good centering. Just really tough which I also hate because it's my favorite set of the 70s.
I know the 76 brett and 73 ryan are both terribly hard to find centered.

Forgive the share...I found this centered Brett some years back.....one of my top 5 fav cards
Balco - Nice 1976 Brett. But even this one has a decent amount of PD. The centering comes together in totality but starts in and goes out on the left and vice versa on the right. Thus even the nice ones are tough to find without some flaws. This example is very nice and I would tend to believe PSA graded this one knowing the flaws of the issue.
@olb31 Thanks for putting together this data. I didn't know how tough those late 70s OPC can be.
1973 and 1975 OPC are almost impossible to find centered.

1959 Killebrew #515 is usually off center.
Many 1972 "In Action" cards have a tilt.
I have a 1973 opc ryan that is decently centered. left to tight centering is 50/50 (very rare), top to bottom (top more border than bottom) is about 85/15 or so. So the card appears to be as centered as I have seen the 1973 opc.

My 1973 opc ryan is 50/50 left to right but my top to bottom one is like the card pictured above.

Thanks for putting this list together! Here are my 73 and 78 Nolan Ryan cards. Not sure what you mean on the 73 Ryan missing the left border...miscut?
1973's are 15/85 left to right essentially. Just about all of them pictured on ebay. Both of your Ryan's are fantastically centered. the 1973 is off the hook. easily a $3,500+ plus card.
Joe hit on some good ones, the 1972 In actions. woefully off-centered.

Agree on the 76 Brett PD. Prob would be a 6 today! Lol.
Here are 2 others with good centering for these tough issues.
That '77 Brett is beautiful. Looks like it was printed yesterday!
Bought the Brett right here on the boards several years ago. Has the tilt you mentioned and O/C top to bottom but I loved the print. Not sure how others look on Yount but think this one is pretty decently centered.
