i picked up an interesting card at a local card show yesterday...

I was searching through a pile of graded cards and came across a 1981 Donruss Reggie jackson SCG 100 Pristine. I assume these are similar to BGS 10's. The pop on it is 1. And after looking through a lot of the SGC pop reports, it appears this is a very rare grade for a card this old. The seller was asking $150 and I picked it up for $100. It seemed like a decent find. What's ya'll's thoughts on the purchase?

I like that Reggie and the 81 Ds as 10s. Never seen/heard that either but I’d have bought it too.

Reggie is my favorite player. When I was a kid my parents would let me wake up to watch him come to bat if the game was on after I had to go to bed.

What kid would want to eat something called a "Harmon Bar"? Even Reggie's name had some flash!

Killebrew had a quiet personality and played in Minnesota. I don't think there would be much excitement for a "Harmon Bar".

Killebrew was #4 all time in home runs and #2 in HR frequency of the top 10 when he retired .

He certainly should have gone in on the first ballot.

    Reggie definitely had more "flash"!

If you shorten either his first or last name for a candy bar you get "Harm" or "Kill", probably not what you want to call something you eat.

He would have a whole different level of popularity had he played in New York or Boston. He would have hit 1,000 home runs had he played in Fenway

George Brett, Roger Clemens and Tommy Brady.
