Friday is MeTaL pOrN ! SHOW ME WHAT YOU GOT!

WeissWeiss Posts: 9,942 ✭✭✭✭✭

Sent off a bunch of Chinese silver and smaller gold to NGC a few months ago and the last pieces returned late last week.
Got anything interesting, rare, scarce, fun lately?

I have a nice Chinese Fatman piece I tried to give to Anacs last month at a local show and the guy told me they were not currently taking Chinese pieces because of so many fakes currently out there.

Here's a neat roll of 64-D Quarters still sealed with tape by somebody in 1965.

The 1935 Swiss piece is really cool. It's a restrike, and the "L" in "LB" stands for "Lingot", or bullion. To me that makes it one of the earliest sovereign examples of a bullion coin.

That really says it all. Isn't authentication their raison d'être?

The pardon is for tyrants. They like to declare pardons on holidays, such as the birthday of the dictator, or Christ, or the Revolution. Dictators should be encouraged to keep it up. And we should be encouraged to remember that the promiscuous dispensation of clemency is not a sign of political liberality. It is instead one of those valuable, identifying marks of tyranny.

Exactly what I said to the guy, he couldn't answer me.

It started with the regular proof, then I wanted the normal one matching. Then I located these. The holders present the coins well!

    Here’s the others:
