Ottawa Mint Museum / collection

In the Royal Mint annual report for the year 1930, the appendix containing the Report of the Deputy Master of the Ottawa Branch refers to an “Ottawa Mint Museum”. I assume this refers to the Ottawa Branch’s own collection of coins and medals which, by 1930, contained some 1,000+ objects.

Would anyone know what became of this collection and, if preserved, where it resides today? Thanks!

Most, if not all, of it was transferred to the National Currency Museum at the Bank of Canada in the 1970s.

    That helps a lot, thanks.

Would you know of an article or book that deals with the formation of the National Currency Museum collection?
