  Not uncommon at all
  Type 2 was used on all 1972S 40% silver dollars.
  It is the Type2 on clad dollars that is rare.

  Thanks for answering my question. It's greatly appreciated. I also have an 1866
  3 cent piece that seems to have a "crack" running along the bottom of the reverse side. Any thoughts on that? Thanks again, Kenney.
