What was your first submission, how long ago was it, how did it go, etc.?
Here is mine. I am completely wet behind the ears. Feel free to tell me which, if any, were worth submitting and which were not. I won't reply again in this thread unless somebody asks a question. Give your honest opinions, make jokes, and enjoy. l have the thickest of skin.
Just got results on my first one. I expect and deserve to get an earful but it's a baseline and a starting point to learn from. Some cards were graded for sentimental value for 2 other people and I advised against a couple.

Bought raw out of SCD, must have been shortly after PSA opened for business. 1992?
I was an early PSA member in early 90s. I bought cards off of Teletrade. (Who remembers that? LOL)
I barely remember my first sub but I believe it included:

My first submission was (6) 1964 Topps Giants Mickey Mantle's in 2005 probably submitted under a $5 tallboy special. Got (2) 6's, (2) 7's, and (2) 8's. Pretty much what I expected although I was hoping for a 9, but didn't get it.

Vintage seems to be a common theme for 1st submissions. I'm surprised there hasn't been any non sports first submission posts yet.
My first submission also included 11 pokemon but those didn't complete yet. Included is the 1999 unlimited charizard holo and some other sought after 1999 and 1996 pocket monster cards. I never played, my son did 5 years, I just happened to have some nice coworkers who gave me their kid's collections who had gone off to college. I tried returning them when my son stopped playing but they didn't want them.

In all seriousness, your first submission of 77 Star Wars stickers is great. My cousin had many of them but he didn't see them as a collector item and I'm sure they went into the trash in the late 80s.
@JolleyWrencher No worries!!! I’m glad you posted!!! Yes… my first step into grading was some Star Trek, some Star Wars, and some Lost In Space.
Because of my childhood collecting… I wanted to share the Star Wars grades. Sorry to the hear the “ended up in the trash” story that we know all too well… but my stickers survived… so I got them graded!!!!
I have a PSA 8 graded set of the blue border series 1 Star Wars cards still in my possession (and up on the registry), but those original stickers are mostly gone (replaced by a set I later put together).
So please don’t keep us in suspense… how did all your Pokémon grade out????? Especially your Charizard???

Thought I'd add mine - was in 2004.
This was my favorite: a 30 buck pickup from Rotman Auctions around 1992/3.
The pokemon cards are still in step 4. I imagine they got a stockpile to grade. I was surprised the 37 sports cards were done in under 30 days.
I think my grades are severely lowering the class average 🙃

The first one was my Uncles and the rest were part of a larger collection I have.
I could be wrong but it's possible a label is wrong on Machamp. If it is then I don't care as long as the person buying it knows what they're getting.
I was pleased with my first round of submissions and will be submitting my second round next week.

Wow, my first PSA submission was back in 2004. Looks like I was testing the waters with a couple T206s, some modern Clementes, some Steelers, my favorite Bird card that was so cool when I was younger and a random RPA from the local Phoenix Suns. Turnaround time was fantastic. Cool topic and fun blast from the past!

The Ryan rookie was resubmitted 3 times and is now residing in a 5 holder. The '71 Ryan was a 7 but someone must have cracked it out after I sold it years ago.

Late 60's and early to mid 70's non-sports
my first sub was a couple of cards I had since childhood when my brother and I collected and kept all these years. I forgot where I got the Brock (I think my brother did) and we bought the Mattingly at a card shop in Tobyhanna PA back in 1992 while in the Poconos for a summer vacation. I knew they wouldn't grade well, just wanted them slabbed. also in that sub was a 1971 Topps Bernie Parent which I ended up selling awhile back.

The Pujols was my brothers. I still have most of these in my PC. Gave the Nomellini to my Uncle and the regular Nolan Arenado to my brother for his birthday. I resubmitted the Otto Graham and got a 6. Sent in a variety and got back a variety of results! Learned a lot.
