Can I please get a grade estimate for this 1961 Mantle?

My father in law is curious of it’s value. Thanks!

Looks to be in the 4-5 range?

Looks like a wrinkle on the front of card from the left side going towards his chin. If that is a wrinkle then you are starting with a 4 at best. Given the back with a bit of paper loss and some other issues I would guess a grade of 2 or 3.

It appears to actually be glue, not paper loss. I’m not going to pick it off but it’s all raised above the card surface.

O/C and numerous fish eyes on the front hurt it as well. 2 or 3.

I think the paper loss, even though it's not a lot will limit it to a 1, on top of that, add the glue residue and I don't see it getting over a 1 unfortunately. Luckily both are on the back, so the front still has the eye appeal of a nice mid-grade card. I would expect to get maybe a grade or so higher if it gets sold based on the eye appeal not necessarily the grade.

Leave the glue on the card. Paper loss is worse IMO.
Look up what a psa 1 goes for and there you have value.

PSA 1 due to whatever happening back left edge. Still presents very well. Worth grading IMO.

I would leave it raw- enjoy the card for what it is and is not. While this card has obvious grade limitations and in looking at the grade opinions, seeing a card such as this in a 1 or 1.5 holder would simply diminish the enjoyment of looking at it housed in a simple top loader with no grade at all
