Not sure what your question is.

    Yes, they made a 1909 proof & a 1909 VDB proof.

There is talk about a type 2, so I was wondering if the type 2 1909 vdb mattproof is an official listing if that makes any sense.

Not sure what you are talking about with a Type 2.

There is a Type 1 and Type 2 reverse that was used for the 1909 cents.
All proofs used the Type 1 reverse.

I was just asking because mine looks like one in a sense but my middle dot on the vdb is to the left, but when looking at it very close viewing slightly to the right you can see the vdb shifted to the right slightly leaving the vertical of the d to the right of the v.but you would think the middle dot would shift as well Wich I'm assuming it did but with a worn die it's not showing hardly at all leaving the tiny die scratch that once was very visible to being mostly covered by the d leaving enough sticking out to look like a dot,?

Very nice #1 mp I think,I'll show you mine, and so when you look also look at the top middle of the m on the Rev. Ok now back to my shifting thery so if the vdb shifts left that means unum went right traveling the same distance as the vdb covering the cresnt putting it between the top middle of the m.our does this sound crazy.

"so if the vdb shifts left that means unum went right traveling the same distance as the vdb"

Unum was in the hub the VDB was added to the die. Your shift theory isn't looking good.
The VDB is in slightly different locations on different dies.

If your VDB or the dots don't match the photo I posted it's not a proof, sorry. :/

I don't have reference to exactly how it was added to the die.
It may have been hand punched into the die or it may have been added to the master die by hand or hubbing.

Please post a photo of your coin so I can see what you are talking about and try to give you better information. ;)

Yes your right that we will say all of the lettering are apart of the original hub ,so doesn't that mean the cresnt gets covered by the m,the die scratch that's apart of the hub is still there but partially covered by the d means what I'm not sure.

    Thanks for adding photos! :)

Your coin has a Type 2 reverse that was not used for proofs. (Deep N in United)
Sorry, your coin is not a proof. :/

Do you see the difference between the N's?
Do you see how yours matches the Type 2 N?

The Type 1 was the only reverse used for proofs.
    If it's a Type 2 it can't be a proof.

The Type 2 design was not made until after the proofs were struck.
