Rose of Lippe

harashaharasha Posts: 3,114 ✭✭✭✭✭

You never know what a casual browse will find. One of my favorite designs is the rose of the German state of Lippe. This little gem is about 17mm in diameter; a 48th of a taler.

Love it! And the little rosettes on either side of the denomination.

Looks like a Tudor rose, or, for that matter, the rose on the Rosa Americana colonial issues.

Collector since 1976. On the CU forums here since 2001.

That is a really high quality rose for a coin of that size.
