IMO fields look polished with less to no polishing in and about the devices. Definitely not my series however.

Although prooflike Japanese coins can certainly be found, that does not appear to be one of them. I'm not home to check but I don't recall that year as having proofs struck. Plus it looks polished unfortunately.
That's not a Yen - it's a Yenski (because of how Polish'ed it is).
Definitely appears polished, not PL.
