Do you have any idea why the traded cards seem universally tougher than the normal cards in high grade? They certainly seem to be copious in general.

I think a lot of collectors didn't like them. I have a ton of these, and may send some in. Not a lot of stars either. I'll bet that matters to many.

I opened quite a few '74 packs about 20 years ago. Wax boxes were pretty cheap back then! The packs were filthy with traded cards but they always seemed to be badly O/C or miscut. That's probably why they're challenging in PSA 9. My subset is 90% complete at 8.31. I still need 4 plus 8 upgrades to complete it in 9 or better.

Same here, I picked up a hoard of NM/MINT commons some years ago, and while plentiful, the vast majority of the traded cards were off center.

Were the Traded cards printed on their own separate sheet? I have seen a proof sheet with just the 44 traded cards, so I’m assuming a 132 card sheet containing three sets? Or were they added to the normal card sheets like in 1976?

I'm not sure. I've seen both the traded, and team card sheets, but haven't seen a sheet with regular cards intermingled with the traded. Good question.
