I was afraid it wa s lost but Ifinally found it in one of my tray cases. This Bronze medal is signed Charles Cushing Wright and measures 57 mm for 93.28 g. Only 1150 have been struck and it is not easy to find

    That is a nice medal....being a NY resident, I should check the antique shops around here for one of those... they have display cases that usually have multiple old medals that I really do not look at...Cheers, RickO

    As I look closely at the date (I can't enlarge it on my CRT) it looks like an 1855 to me?

    I did on my cell phone. It's a 53. It looked like a 55 when I first saw it to. Best wishes

    It clearly is 1853.

    About the only organization that still uses the hyphen is the New-York Historical Society on Central Park West at 77th street.

    Ok I have to ask what's going on in that image? I guess the saying doesn't hold true with big wings as it does with feet!

    This is an award medal made for a World's Fair in NY held in 1853.

    Below is an engraving of the "Crystal Palace" made in imitation of one made for an 1851 Exhibition in London. It is on a proof note of the Nassau Bank from 1853.
