Looks Ottoman to me, so it would be from somewhere west of Iran.

I believe that the coin is an Ottoman Egypt copper para sultan Mahmud II date AH 1223 (AD 1808) regnal year 28.

We would need the diameter and weight to identify it further.

think you are right about costume jewelry. The coin weighs 1 gram and is 21-22 mm diameter very thin can bend it by hand
