1980 Football in 1979 Wrappers

Since Topps used the same year wrappers on multiple years, how do you know if you have 1979 or 1980 cards in the packs?

I have wax trays of these and it’s pretty easy to tell through the wax wrapper. 1980 has the colored border that stands out

One has black and the other has color

Dont forget, they used '79 wrappers in '81 also.

HUH? both 79 and 80 have white borders.

The bottoms on the 80's have that football logo. The 79's have the ribbon up top.
