First light of day...

Searching an original bank wrap 1960 dimes. Just sharing. Might pick what i feel has best look and send it in on one of my freebies maybe. Im not the best at eyeball grading, even using photograde. Enjoy.

Thanks most have hairlines on them...no grading expert even with photograde app. Maybe 2 or 3 could be worthy of single pics. Ill add in a little while.

Nice roll of dimes... I wonder why that one is so dark... and both sides would indicate some other reason than end roll tarnish....Cheers, RickO

The toned obverse was one end of roll and the toned reverse was the other end of the roll

If this is a new bank roll then it might be due polish you’re seeing.

When you say new? It was an original bank roll...
Also due polish? Would there be examples so i could compare.

That's a typo. He means "Die Polish".

What looks like hairlines could be in the die and struck into the coin. Die Polish won't lower the coin's grade while hairlines will.

Don't waste one of your freebie submissions on a 1960 dime. They are very common, having been issued during a period often referred to as the great roll and bag coin boom. Many hoards of them probably still exist and are now finding their way into the market as the original owners die and the heirs dump their coin hoards.

I love unopened original rolls. Even though they are common, they are becoming less so. I found a willing seller who was liquidating on ebay about 12 years ago, and I found some great end roll toners in those rolls. I still kept some of them unopened, and when I had that bug I bought some other OBW rolls along the way. Some of the best toners I've found are in those Johnson Standard paper wrappers.

I use the freebies on coins that wouldnt normally justify paying to grade itll be given to my father as a gift it was my first obw to open and sort so itll mean a little more. Ill get more next year either way.

    Hairlines or die polish?

Putting them on that towel could give you more hairlines.
