~this snake has a neat path to increasing profitability. Follow link and press "buy it now" to find out the price for the Saquon RC is a mere .99 and the shipping is 3,249.01 for an even 3250.00...... https://www.ebay.com/itm/113609083754?ul_noapp=true

This is why eBay charges seller fees on shipping, too.

    Undoubtedly.

  • Well, it is "expedited shipping."

Perhaps this seller is attempting to get a purchase from a blind eye...a buyer who thinks he is jumping on a .99 steal. OR maybe he doesn't realize he will in fact be charged on the shipping ...Why else would he/she misrepresent the selling price?

    Because he's an idiot

IT IS ALWAYS CHEAPER TO NOT SELL ON EBAY

Sellers used to do this, but years ago, ebay starting charging seller fees on shipping charges.

Could it be to stop buyers from asking for a partial refund at the time of sale of even weeks/months down the road? How much of a partial refund can you give on a 99 cent sale? lol

Looks like he tried to sell this card once already with an auction that ended January 23rd. Perhaps his experience with a non-paying buyer has influenced him in some way to list in this fashion???

I agree that it would make more sense to just list it as $3500 BIN with free shipping, or whatever, but there's something to be said for listing it at 99 cents with ridiculous shipping, as it has gotten the card talked about in this forum and probably others, and likely more views than it otherwise would have. Whether or not that translates into a legitimate, completed sale is another story.

If we could get everybody who participates on this board and the other major card selling forum to put a note in everything they sell advertising this board then maybe we could sway more people to buy and sell here and avoid FEEBAY and only do PayPal or better yet gift when appropriate. Maybe I'm dreaming but it sounds good!!!!!!

Am I remembering incorrectly, or was/is it an eBay policy that prohibited shipping charges more (significantly more?) than the actual cost of shipping? If so, couldn't one buy this and then request a refund for all but, say, $10 of the shipping?

The seller would not be saving anything on fees and a listing like this could save some buyers a lot of money with the phasing in of more and more automatic state sales tax collections. Some states do not collect sales tax on the shippping portion of a sale. So if this was sold to a buyer in a 10% sales tax state that does not collect tax on shipping then it would save the buyer about $324.

It appears it is in Ohio. Perhaps I can arrange to pick it up in person. Save me a few thousand and he can avoid the hassle of people complaining about his shipping style.

I picture Ralph knocking on this guys door with a dollar in hand requesting his card. It's a video I would watch over and over on YouTube!
Just buy something cheap and when he/she sends it you have their address.

Was. Far as I know that went away when they began including shipping costs in their fee calculation.

Perhaps asking for legal trouble but that explanation at least makes sense.
