Help with figuring out what this 1970 Card is

Sifting through a large collection, came across this oddball. As you can see, the coloring on the front is WAY darker than typical 1970 card, although the back is normal. Examined front with 10x loupe, and it definitely wasn't re-colored. It is a charcoal gray. Nothing like anything I have seen before. Apologies that the scanner shifted the color toward magenta a little. I added a photo too

Also, it looks like it could possibly be hand cut, but maybe just worn on edges. Were there samples that someone cut down maybe?

There is a thread on the charcoal colored 1970 Topps cards on Net 54. Several examples were posted and there was a discussion about possible origins. After somone posted one and asked about it like you, others searched there 70 cards and other examples were found and posted. I am out of the country through mid September or would try to find a link for you. Maybe someone else who posts on 54 can run it down in a search there. It was awhile back.

Here is a net54 forum thread on variations. There is a brief discussion of the charcoal gray 1970 starting at the bottom of the page.
