Even though he was never voted into the HOF I really like the 1971 Topps Munson. I love the landscape design along with a great action shot. The black borders in high grade look awesome and I have always been partial to the Topps rookie of the year trophy on their second year cards.

Agree with Palmer Brett and Henderson. Problem is, most of the great RCs from that time frame are shared which IMO greatly reduces eye appeal.

69 Bench would get my vote for best first solo card from that time frame.

52-90 All Sports, Mostly Topps, Mostly HOF, and some assorted wax.

I'll have to give this some thought.

    I know one I definitely don't like?

"My father would womanize, he would drink. He would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Sometimes he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy. The sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. Our childhood was typical. Summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we'd make meat helmets. When we were insolent we were placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds - pretty standard really."

On topic, this is a neat jigsaw puzzle manufactured I'm guessing roughly around 2006. It has the rookie cards of all of the HOFs that debuted on "post war" cards? through the 2006? class. I haven't looked since I bought mine off of eBay several years ago, but at that time, there were multiple being sold new in box in case this catches anyone's attention and they want one for themselves. I glued the finished puzzle together, and have it hanging on the wall in my "card room".

As an aside, I always found it a bit amusing that Mickey Klutts is featured more prominently than Paul Molitor.

And they snuck Petey in there, too.

83T Sandberg was initially mentioned in the first reply (2nd post) on this thread.

As I understood it from the OP, we could choose three total, one from each year. So that's why I didn't choose Sandberg from the '80s. But if I had a few picks from the 1980s, I'd definitely put the '83 Topps Ryno on the list. Solid card.

Yeah I know and he is not in the HOF. It's just one of my all time favs.

I also love the Rickey rookie. It sucks that the 3 or 4 I collected as a child are all in PSA 8 or below shape.

Those like they’re in great shape, did you buy them or save them from years ago?

I got both off eBay. The Clemens about a year ago. He should be in the HOF BTW. The Gwynn about a month ago.

Those are great raw cards, centering looks great.

Can’t tell from one pic, but what do you think
    9 on the Gwynn
8-9 on Clemens depending on top to bottom centering?

IMO both Bonds and Clemens will get in.

Hard to disagree with Rickey as No. 1.

But there's just something about the color mix (border, logo, uniform) on Larkin's 1987 Fleer RC that pops. I love that card!
