LB mini report and a PCGS 69 York Commem sighting. Pic posted

Hola
I went Saturday so the show in essence was finished. I went to visit friends and did I quick walk through. Sold a couple rolls of Morgan's and a few few roll of Kennedy's to Todd and Roger. The kid is amazing in spite of her role models. What a cutie.
Got to chat with CRO John, Bill Shamhart, DavidMcCarthy ( Regulated), Bonnie Sabel, Gregg Bingham and Illini420. All are champs. CascadeChris was well met. Chatted with Ian Russell as well and wanted him to know how impressed I was with his efforts. What a nice dude.
Was offered part of the York 5 card commem deal. This included a PCGS 69. Amazing lot. I wasn't in the market but what what eye candy. Sick
Glad I went. No one was harmed by my presence. The show was mediocre by most accounts.

Fellas, leave the tight pants to the ladies. If I can count the coins in your pockets you better use them to call a tailor. Stay thirsty my friends......

Wow, I have no knowledge of the York 69, but there are only 9 PCGS 69s of all commems combined. I'd love to see one that isn't an Oregon or a Norfolk.
For us dummies, what is the York 5 card deal? Is the York the 69 on coinfacts?

In terms of attendance and overall sales, this one is at the low end of things. But, like always, I had a blast. Where else can you talk to all kinds of people about coins, drink good wine and every once in a while sell something?
The biggest disappointment was that they decided NOT to have a dealer appreciation event, so there was no beer for us on Wednesday. Now I know a beer is not much, but when you anticipate it, and then it is not there it kind of bugged me a little bit. I wish they would have brought out a tap and at least had us buy it.
Very disappointing.
I did pick-up a very nice 66+ CAC Saint. Mucho pretty.
Also, it was very hard to buy anything nice with any room left for resale. I sold a total of three coins I lost money on because of the downturn in the market. I was there to sell coins, not show them off, so I took my losses. But many dealers wanted to show me coins for prices I could not resell them for. So this market is not done shaking out.
@Kove and Wabbit
Honestly it may have been the nicest commem Ive ever seen. Lustre bomb, monster color and flawless. There was a 68 (or+) and 67+ that I was shown also. The 67+ was an incredible looking coin in its own rights. All were beautifullly toned.
B- York's were distributed in two ways going by memory. One was in a 5 slot cardboard holder then placed in an envelope for shipping and storage.
I'm 99% certain that these were submitted to NGC and then crossed at LB. One dealer bought the deal.

That is the most attractive York commemorative I have ever seen. Was this the MS69?
Indeed. It's now listed on CoinFacts

Saw this coin mentioned in CRO's Road Report and in this thread and so I checked last night and the pics weren't up on coinfacts yet. They are now (and are shown above). I think I said "Oh my god...wow". I don't collect Silver Commems, but that coin is absolutely stunning.
From the CRO Road Report
And while it was admittedly not as nice as the mega-toned raw example I saw and tried to buy in a set in the recent NH Centennial Auction and which re-appeared at this show in a PCGS MS69 slab, it was about $84,500 less expensive. Not a typo, do not adjust your set.

Cheerleaders! Were there any cheerleaders at the show?
Gorgeous coin. Here's the CoinFacts image:

That certainly is a pretty coin.
No but there were chicks running around wearing only CAC stickers covering their lady parts. The one running around in gold was the hottest. Approved

It would not be possible to ever recover from an experience like the above.

Thanks so much! Just what I was looking for!!
It's nice to hear shows are still working for the most part.
For me, the cost and time of travel just vacuums up too much money I could be spending on coins. 1500 on average to fly, car, hotel. Sometimes less sometimes more. If one came near I'd be there. LA has never been easy on my wallet and you all post the highlights anyway.
Don't get me wrong, I love to travel and eat out and explore. Coin shows are one of my favorite things to do. Did prob 20 majors like Baltimore, Fun, CS etc got to meet a lot of folks and get a handle on the scene. Then I burnt I guess. Now, if I have the notion, I'd rather buy something off CRO early bird or eagle eye say and go hiking and sleep in my own bed and not stash kids and board dogs.
That may really be what shows are up against who knows.
This coin stopped by for a brief visit at my table, it is amazing.
These York commems were raw not to long ago

True dat!
...are you still the earthquake whisperer? ;-)
I cover most calamities including earthquakes, floods and fires. Insect pestilence I'm working on.
