So, I mention to my brother how much I like the Haitian gourde of the late 1880s. For some reason, it inspires him to get me the posted item. I think he was taken aback when I commented that it always is impressive to hold 5 ounces of silver. He thought it was a neat coin. Whatever. I thought it was cool, no matter how you look at it!

Tchad probably is more proper. تشاد in Arabic. Transliterated as Tchad by the French who held it as a "colony."
