When you know the 'Gifter' is 'less experienced'. In this case, it didn't pay to have kept her naive

OddRodzOddRodz Posts: 645 ✭✭✭

Gotta love it <3 It was an attempt. No clue where she got'm from, but to her, it was a significant chore to get. So she will NEVER know the insignificance. No idea what she paid. And somehow there will be a GEM in here to let her know the appreciation.

But on the cool side, now all packs will be opened and posted here :) WOO HOO !

You should have sent it to BBCE for authentication. You just crushed your resale value. :D

That Canseco card was iconic af. I have a friend who doesn't collect anymore but still cherishes that card.

God bless your wife. My girlfriend got me some cards a few weeks ago and it was the cutest thing ever.

For the first time in our 23 + years of marriage my wife bought me some baseball cards! She found a binder at an estate sale with random 91-92 Topps, Fleer and Score cards. Nothing of financial value, but the fact that she thought of me make the cards priceless.

Your gifter is a dear. My wife of 20+ years would never attempt to buy me cards, probably for the best. One thing she might do is sneak into my card room, box up some cards I already have, and give them to me. I'd be none the wiser. "Oh honey, these are wonderful. I think they might be upgrades of cards I already have!!!"

Awesome! My wife is terrified to buy cards because she thinks she'll get the "wrong thing" or overpay. I've tried to tell her there is no wrong thing, but she doesn't buy it.

What was amazing in my case is that my wife doesn't like me collecting cards. If the bill was $10 - $25 monthly then everything would be okay, but that doesn't buy many Heritage SSP cards. I haven't told her yet that I'd like to go to next year's National to go shopping.

This was a very nice gesture. Worth a lot more than just the $$ involved.

Those would be fun to rip regardless of outcome. Lotta memories cracking those open. I had a TON of those 90 Fleer Abbotts.

If your willing to part with your Tony Tobacco card get at me. I have a friend Tony who chews that I'd love to give that too.

    Cheers!
