  That is actually super cool (to me!). I just won an eBay auction of a medal honoring Dr. Aldophe Pinard of France. It was celebrating him as a 'puericulteur', which is a masculinized version of the current feminized word (puericultrice) which basically means perinatal nurse/early childhood care education. This was a new focus on educating mothers before and after birth regarding healthy care including prenatal care (he developed a type of fetoscope and has an obstetrical maneuver named after him) as well as newborn and early child care/nutrition. He was active in the time frame of your medal. So, uber cool tie in and I love it! If you see another for sale let me know...
