Netherlands 1944 10c and 25c pieces

Hello everyone! I have two 1944 25c Acorn/P pieces and a 1944 10c acorn/P.

Can anyone help me with grade or value? I thought a lot of these got melted down. I believe these to be uncirculated.

Would they make a nice gift to someone in Holland? Or is this a darker part of their history..?

Much love and thanks all.

Check the Krause catalog for value, but probably not much more than bullion. I believe these were struck for use in Suriname, which was important during the war because of their oil production

Both coins were minted in the US, and intented for use in the Netherlands after WW2
Suriname never produced oil, Netherlands Indies (Indonesia) did, but these coins have nothing to do with that.

the 10 cents was minted in Philadelphia (mintmark P) 1944 and is very common , worth in this condition a couple of dollars

(the one minted in Denver 1944 mintmark D is ultra rare , only a few known, all 25 million were melted, but many fakes around,
an Original 1944 Denver is worth around 25.000 USD in UNC )

Same for the 25 cents , your's is very common 1944 P worth a couple of dollars ,the 1945 P is the rare one, worth about 1000 USD in UNC)

Please check Krause for Netherlands type coins minted for use in Aruba and Dutch Guiana (Suriname) during WW2. In regard to the oil, go to staatsolie.com for further info, you can read in English.

Yes, Suriname has an oil company now , started in the 1980's , but thats irrelevant for the WW2 period.
I'm dutch, and I have all the dutch catalogs about dutch coins, no need for Krause :)

Krause tells us that these were minted for Netherlands territories as I mentioned , that's where I have my information from. If this is wrong, so be it. Thanks for your input.

mintmark acorn = for use in the Netherlands (like the 2 coins in this topic)

mintmark palmtree = for use overseas like Suriname , dutch caribean islands , (Aruba, Curacao,Bonaire ) and dutch indies
    (Indonesia)
