I've been using my phone for coin photos and

I definitely don't have the same lighting issues as when I was using my camera. I also have the ebay app and find it very easy and smooth to list using this method.

Cell phones have come a long way. I remember when I first came here I was using a Sony Mavica that used floppy discs that I would have to download to my computer and I would use a magnifying glass over the lens to get close ups. Now I don't even own a computer. Lol
What kind of phone do you have? Do you have any special set up?
I've gotta say that I've seen some very well done images of coins with phones.
Amazing!!
It's a Samsung s6 64 gb and no special setup at all. It's not perfect but it does a great job.
I took these with an iPhone 7
@gtstang ...What phone app do you use?? Cheers, RickO
It's the ebay app. It alerts me prior to auctions I'm watching end within 15 minutes. It also sends me a message when a package with tracking is delivered to my mailbox.
Has anyone tried this setup for smartphones?

Would a clip on macro lense for an iPhone be beneficial?
Looks like a "this is what dreams are made of" variety. Nice piece.. thanks for sharing.
@gtstang...Thanks... perhaps I will try that... Cheers, RickO
What's this world coming to Rico is going to post a picture(.Ok try) .:)
Could be wrong, but I think ricko is referring to the eBay app that was described.

I use my phone too- it's an S7...pretty cool what you can do.
Solo shooting a bust...

And...with a 16x loop "taped" to my phone

No worries- it's all good!
The big issue I seem to have with my Iphone 7 is that it over pixilates any coins that have luster on them. Happens with either HDR on or off. Is this a lighting issue?
Looks like it just came out of the mint GB
