Atocha Cobs

My brother passed recently and he left me these. We never found actual certificates but I remember when he bought them at Mel Fischer's back in the eighties. Should these be sent in for verification, or are the catalog markings enough for validation. Your guidance is appreciated as always.

Submitting depends on what you want from it. If just a safe place to store and authenticate then do it. if you send them in I would call first and send them photos and ask if its enough for the pedigree. I just did this with some items as well. Nice pieces by the way and I imagine they have wonderful sentimental value.

Yes, like most coin collectors I am drawn by the history. Because they were my brothers just makes them more special. Not looking to sell them but wanted to have things set for my family should they not choose to retain them after my passing. Thanks for the response.
