Yo Adrian, I Did It !!!

Hi Guys,
It may not be much. It may not compare to Marshall Fogel's sets or Charlie Merkel's sets or John Branca or even Don Louchios's sets. But, then again, I didn't spend that much and at least I will have my name up in lights on the registry. It's funny, after spending tens of thousands of dollars on my other sets, the cheap set is what wins me a plaque? I think??? Do they give a plaque or a pat on the back???
Mrichards 1953 Johnston Cookies Set - The Number One All Time Finest Set
Don't get me wrong, it's very satisfying, but I would of rather had it for 1952 Bowmans. Maybe next year.
Have a great Sunday.
Mike

Thanks, I can't believe I put Atlanta instead of Milwaukee. Now I am starting to show my age and aggravation as a NY Mets Fan. 1960 and 1961 Nu Cards are pretty cool. The Three Stooges are great. Mastro Net has a complete high end Three Stooges set listed in their new auction which is all graded. It's probably going to sell for big money.
Thanks,
Mike
I remember years ago having a '55 Johnston Braves panel (Not the Aaron folder) and displaying it stretched out
in plexiglass, wish I still had it...jay

Nice set Great Job those Smaller regional issues or off-beat cards can be tough (I am building a few myself) I believe you get a nice certificate for your efforts... Jeff

I have seen one PSA 8 common on Ebay in the last 6 months. When they start to heat up is when I will see them. That will probably be the same time when Marshall Fogel or Charlie Merkel puts up their sets in straight PSA 9's and I get pushed to #2 or 3 again. Such as life.
mrichards -
Congrats on finishing a tough set.
Also, thanks for taking the time to put up the pics.
Now we can all enjoy it !

One psa 8 in 6 months, what do you do when one does pop spill your coffee..
Matt
If an 8 pops up (or even a 7 for that matter), I get excited ("I need a life") (That was quoted by my wife), until I sold my 54 Topps set last year for $18,500 and then she got excited. I never understood that, even though I am married for 2 whole years now. What's hers is hers and what's mine is her's. Damn, even the baseball cards aren't safe anymore. Now I have to start building sets in PSA 2's or 3's. I get even more excited when I see 52 Bowmans in 9's and when I bid against Charlie, Marshall and Don and I even win some of them.
In all seriousness, thank you to everyone for the compliment. I will be putting up the #1 1938 W.A. & A.C. Churchman Boxing set which I am waiting to get back from PSA. I like the odd ball sets and I love boxing. Since I will never put together a 1948 Leaf or 1951 Ringside, 1938's are cool. I am just waiting for BJ to list the set and then weight it. It's a cool set. They may not be 1952 Topps, but if I were to start trying to put that together, I might as well move to a cardboard box in the street.
Thanks Again,
Mike
ANJCollection -- Lew Lipset has/had a high grade 1973 Topps 1953 Reprints set in his current auction -- with a minimum bid of $500.
Some absolutely great vintage and type cards. Unfortunately, the auction was half-over yesterday with the rest ending today. Too late to register at any rate.
A must place to look for vintage and type collectors. Always something you've never seen before when dealing with Lew.
I never heard of that auction before. Of course, I did not get a chance to bid, but there were some really nice items listed. Oh well, a day late and a dollar short.
Have a Nice Night,
Mike
