Royal Mint Bullion

Does anybody have experience opening an account with royalmintbullion.com? I started through the process of opening an account and was surprised that they requested a copy of my Passport and SS # to grant me an account. This made me a little nervous.

I really want to get the Queen's Beasts Silver and 1/4 Gold which I haven't seen offered by any US bullion dealers. They are currently out of stock at royalmintbullion.com also, but I'm hoping they will be making more.

Thanks for any advice.

Sounds sketchy to me. Are you trying to buy from the British Royal Mint? You can set up an account with them directly. I have a hard time linking on my tablet, but try their site. http://www.royalmint.com/our-coins

I have bought directly from the BRM with the only issue being my credit card company thought it was a scam and it took some convincing. That was a loss prevention algorithm at work.

Are you sure the site you are looking at isn't a spoof site?

That is different than their bullion site, which requires SS#, passport pictures (of your info) and several other things - that was just too much for me and I opted out.

I understand...the other is the retail shop and nothing is at bullion prices.

I imagine it's part of the 'anyone could be a terrorist so we have to track everyone and everything' mode. Oh well.

If my computer ever fails I will just ask the NSA for a copy of everything. That should work.

My thoughts exactly and got the gold from JB Bullion...

  • Yes, I got the 1 oz from JM Bullion, but I haven't seen the silver or 1/4 gold queens beast anywhere. I haven't decided if it is worth it to me yet to jump thru the hoops.
