    Broadstruck- it's really neat to see the Roman "Tribute Penny" on a 19th century token!



    They did a pretty good job of reproducing the design, too.

    I absolutely love Newfoundland coinage and I think they fly under the radar more often than not. Your fifty-cent piece is terrific.

    Very nice Gold...., but 63 only? looks like a super coin!

    wondering what did prevent this beauty from getting 64?

    Current value for a 64 is CAN $ 1600, exactly double to a 63.

    might be worth to break out and re-submit?

    Here is one of the very scarce Canadian rarities. Rumor has it that less then 10 are known (probably only 7)

    I used to own this coin, but sold it to a very serious Canadian Rarities collector.

    I concur. Those are mighty clean looking fields for a 63, at least based on what we can see in these pictures. And it's a fair-sized gold coin- we all know big gold was more prone to getting marked up, and I'm sure the TPGs forgive that accordingly- so it seems this one caught them in a rather strict mood when it was graded?



    I've never had any Canadian gold except the 1978 $100 piece I posted above. Not even a sovereign or half-sov.

    I bought the $10 gold piece right before the Bank of Canada issues were released. Unfortunately, I misread the market. I thought that a 1912 issue would keep its value because of its relative scarcity. But its a pretty coin.

    If it was mine, I would spend the $ and get it re-graded. Break it out first and submit raw. I sure looks like it will be worth your while.

    The wood grain can be seen very often on the Canadian large Cents from 1905 to 1920 some are extremely attractive in lofty grades....

    you either like them or not.. but there are collectors just for them.

    that's cool I didn't know that. the last wood grain I got was a British 1/2D. I will say ICCS grades almost on spot with our host for MS examples atleast. I have had about 5 crossed over in the last 6 months. + or - 1 grade.

    1843 and 1854 New Brunswick halfpennies. Nice that the ship was retained. (If I were better, they'd be the same size.)

    Your mint state quarter actually looks like a mint state coin, which is not always the case for TPG-certified pieces when I see grades posted. Mine is only graded AU55.
