Requesting discounts on bulk raw card purchases..

Would any of you sellers give discounts if a buyer spends $230 worth of Mark Buehrle raw cards? At the moment I have 77 cards ($100) in my eBay cart but when I requested a total the site crapped out so my 'request total invoice' didn't go through. In the note section I had asked if they would give me a discount on this $100 purchase and/or any future purchases totaling about the same amount. I will attempt all of that again.

Most of the prices on their cards are $1.00 which I don't have a problem with. I buy from them because Id rather just get them all in the same order instead of buying from seven different sellers for seven different cards and having to pay shipping on each. Ive already asked if they'd go lower on some of the cards (non-chrome, etc..) that are $3-$5 cheaper from other sellers but they said no. In the past month Ive made three purchases from them totaling ~$130 in Buehrle cards and have $100 worth in my cart at the moment. I don't think other sellers have the amount of Buehrle cards Burbank Sportscards does so it's easier just buying in bulk from them, otherwise I would shop around more.

After that long-winded post/rant, just wondering if what I'm saying has merit for a discount. Also, and even though he's my second favorite player and has had a very respectable career, do you consider Buehrle to be a common in the cardboard world?

TIA
Dan

I don't think Burbank will give a discount but it's worth asking? They have a huge inventory and I get it
you can do all your shopping under one roof but they know that so there probably won't be a discount?
I wouldn't consider him a common but maybe a semi star? The guy is good and durable but never really
got a lot of national exposure.

If I was the seller and you ask me. I would try to move the sale off eBay and save both of us money.
Have you asked them to do the sale off eBay and get a discount?

Also have you checked out the COMC web site they have 277 different Mark Buehrle cards there with front
and back scans from many dealers. You can make offers on most cards and get all the card you buy
    shipped in one package.

It never hurts to ask. The worst they can say is no. I would consider him a semi star.

I agree with everything you guys have said. I just wanted your opinions on the situation, I had planned on asking them but, as jackstraw said, I don't think BS would give a discount.

I also think he's a semi-star (with 4GG, 5AS, 1WS, a no hitter and perfect game) but because of the lack of national recognition as jackstraw mentioned, it still seems like his cards are commons.

Bighurt, I did see COMC but didn't check into the prices too much, though I will do so tonight. Thanks.
  • Just shop on their website, not ebay. most of his common cards are 50 cents or less on there.

Also, if you tried to ask them for a deal if you do it off ebay, they would manually have to remove the 200 cards from their website. Thats a lot of labor so I doubt you would see much of a discount.

+1, once I found them on Beckett selling for much less than their eBay prices, I've never bought from them off eBay again.

I don't see why someone wouldn't give you some sort of discount. Look at the amount of fees you are saving the seller by buying 100 cards together vs. 100 separate payments.

eBay has the minimum .99 for store items. So there isn't much they can do about that. I think you get free shipping if you spend $50 on their site.

Ive used Beckett many times before and Im not sure why I didnt use it for these recent purchases. And yes, their prices on there are much cheaper than thier eBay prices.

Oh. I filled up my Beckett cart last night and this morning it's empty! Ugh!
