It is very attractive for the date. From where I sit, it does look as if there is a rim issue at the C in CANADA. That likely will be problematic if submitted.

I would like to be wrong on that... However, the image is the image and that is what we have to work with here.

I would look into the archives of the and the CCF site to make sure that this is the 'near' that you think it is. It could be a "far". Anmd Kat is right about the rim at the C in Canada.... it would severely hurt the grade

No doubt, it is a NEAR 2 to the leaf!
Grade, difficult. Au 55-58 but I do not think it will make 60

I have never heard of a near 2. Is this a newer discovery?

Yes, another person on another site has the same "which is it" problem. From past endless posts on a few sites, the best way to tell a "far" (far from the leaf) is that the space between the 3 & 2 is much narrower than between the 2 and the leaf. In a "near" the distances are about the same. You can also take a straight edge between the leaf tips (which will also just hit the tip of the "1". On a "far" type, the 2 will be well below the line. On a "near", the line will just about touch the 2. It is the FAR one that you want. The far Trends at about $500 in F-12, until people start selling them. I know a friend that has 10-12 of them. It's a relatively recent publicized find that one person in particular loaded the websites with polls. The price will fall appreciably, but will still have a 30-40X premium.

Here is the other site thread:
