capped bust half dime series has some rare cuds, but by "esoteric" I think I know what you mean: the cuds exist, the market is thin, so it would appeal to a specialist if that specialist doesn't already have one.

Wow, I'm sure you did make someone's day! Not mine though unfortunately. Bust quarter cuds are few and far between, and very popular. Most seem to come in low grades, as this one was.

It's an R-6 die state according to the Rea book, Die State c, Stage 4. A fairly late die state/stage but not the latest one, as I believe that full cud examples do exist (I own one).

Nope, no longer collecting BQ's...in fact, this below is my last one except for some lower grade common ones. I'm exclusively collecting CBH's and SLH's.

It wasn't me - I saw his post as soon as he posted it, copied and pasted his link (before he linkified it) looked at it for maybe 30 seconds, clicked the buy it now, and it was already gone.

Given that there are 100-200 members online usually at a time across all the sub-forums, and probably 10's of thousands of folks refreshing the newly listed BINs on eBay, I'd still say it's a small chance it was a forum member, but you never know.

The thing is, I actually don't even think that coin is realistically worth much more than it sold for...but for a BQ collector, it's a very nice find because the cuds are so rare.
