I have a gold ring from my grandfather that looks very similar (handmade style). No coin, just a monogram and diamond, but the ring part is very similar. I think maybe his was made in the 1960s. So that would fit with your story timeline.
It's funny how certain coins appear in jewelry while others never do. Perhaps this was given to her as a gift. Or perhaps she bought it as a gift for someone else (you?)
My mother has (and still occasionally wears) a pair of earrings made with two of those "1945" 2-pesos coins.
As restrikes, they don't have much numismatic appeal, perhaps, but they're nice affordable gold bullion coins and they do look great in jewelry, being just the right size. I like them better than the little gold Pandas.
