Today was Cow Day for me

Since I live in Texas I thought it appropriate I add some cows to the collection, these are the Heritage pics:

Bas (ruled 376 BC – 326 BC), was the first independent ruler of Bithynia, the period in which this coin was made. The city of Calchedon (various spellings are used) was the site where Darius the Great of Persia built his Bridge of Boats to cross the Bosphorus in 512 BC for the Scythian campaign.

With several references in the Iliad, Mysia was part of the Achaemenid Empire (First Persian Empire - 550-330 bc) until the time of Alexander the Great.

You should have told me to lay off Jeff. I was bidding on these as well... super nice pieces. I like the Mysia in particular.

I picked up a few pieces as well which I will share separately.

Those are really nice JCM. Really nice strikes and luster on both.

I just got a nice Julian II bull from Bronzemat this week and hopefully I can get some pictures up later tonight. It's bronze of course but still in the same theme. :-)
