Then again, after thought -- I'm thinking an outfield of Parker, Clemente and V. Guerrero would be nice too. No one would take an extra base. Ever. Guys might stop at first on a ground rule double.

...or you could go all-frustrating high contact/low K team with Gwynn, Mattingly, Rose, Boggs, Ichiro, Greenwell...

I know Bo's talented enough to play two sports, but it's going to be tough to be in the OF and on the bench at the same time image

For the most part my collection spans the 20 years before and after my birth in 1971.

This lineup reflects that and was so difficult to assemble when considering the span of 40 years of players. I think the legends of childhood, as told by my dad may have benefitted on the top team, and I know Dodgers benefitted on the favorite team. I added a DH and did 6 P spots and didn't bother with a Closer.

    Top / Favorite
    C : Bench / Campanella
    1B : Musial / McCovey
    2B : Rose / Jackie
    3B : Schmidt / Brett
    SS : Banks / Banks
    OF : Ted / Clemente
    OF : Mays / Mays
    OF : Mantle / Mantle
    DH : Aaron / Duke

    P : Spahn / Drysdale
    P : Koufax / Koufax
    P : Gibson / Gibson
    P : Marichal / Marichal
    P : Ryan / Ryan
    P : Randy / Seaver

    Cool question.
